Specifications

Varistor Voltage

The voltage between two terminals with the specified measuring current 1mA DC applied is called V1mA,The measurement shall be made as fast as possible to avoid heat affection. 
Test equipment; MYZ-3 type varistors three parameters tester

The usual tolerance on varistors voltage is±10%. 
K:±10%;
L:±15%。

Leakage current

In the standard test conditions, the maximum allowable DC voltage applied, the flow through the varistor current. Test equipment: MYZ-3 Varistor three parametric tester.

Maximum clamping voltage

Applied the pulse current waveform is 8/20μS to varistor, time interval is 2 minutes, twice applied the same direction, make the varistor voltage change rate within ± 10% of the maximum peak current test

Energy

The maximum energy within the varistors voltage change of ±10% when one impulse of 2ms or 10/1000μS is applied.

Where J -- Energy absorbed in joules.
      Ip -- Maximum let-through current in amps.

Solderability

After dipping the terminals to a depth of immersion 3.5-0.5 mm from the body in a soldering bath temperature 235℃±5℃ for 2± 0.5seconds, the terminal shall be visually examined.
Test equipment: Solder machine

Approximately 90% of the terminals shall be covered with solder uniformly.

Resistance to soldering heat

After each lead shall be dipped into a solder bath having a temperature 350℃±10℃,to a point 2.0 to 2.5mm from the body of the unit. Using shielding. Board(t=1.5mm) ,be held there for specified time 5±0.5s and then be stored at room temperature and humidity for 1 to 2 hours. The change of V1mA and mechanical damages are examined.

Solvent resistance of marking

Solvent: alcohol Rubbing material: cotton woolRecovery: 4hours.
Thereafter, visual examination and the change of V1mA shall be examined.

Robustness of terminations Tensile Bending

After gradually applying the force specified below and keeping the unit fixed for ten seconds. The terminal shall be visually examined for and damage.

Pulse shape half sine acceleration:390 m/s2, pulse 4000±10times. Thereafter, visual examination and the change of V1mA shall be examined. Test equipment: Collision sets

Frequency range:10Hz--55Hz.
Amplitude: 0.75mm or 98 m/s whichever is the less severe.
Total duration: 6 hours .

Ⅲ.HEL varistor safety reliability performance, environmental testing performance

Requirements

Flame-retardant

Impose the required flame on the side of varistor after fixed the varistor, 15s per cycle for 3 cycles.

Self-extinguishing within 15s for one and second cycles, self-extinguishing within 30s for 3rd cycle.

Pulse current life

Applied the pulse current waveform is 8/20μS in below table to varistor, interval is 10s for 10000 times, testing the varistor voltage after 1 hour to 2 hours under put in normal temperature.
